#30DayBlogChallenge 5 Ways To Win My Heart

how to win my heart

I am not an easy person to win over. I’m not & I’m not ashamed to admit that. I’m not jaded by any means but I also don’t necessarily wear my heart on my sleeve. I’m just careful with who I choose to show my true feelings for & who I let win over my heart. But I guess that’s the problem in itself. Because you can try & try to deny someone the privilege to love you & not let them win your heart but if they love you, really love you, they will be able to win your heart & your love & your soul without you “letting” them.

1. Be Sincere

Show me you care. I’m not saying you have to buy me flowers everyday & take me to a five star restaurant, to be honest, I wouldn’t really enjoy that anyways. But talk to me. Ask me how my day was. Get to know me & my friends & my interests & hates & I will do the same for you. It’s the little things that mean the most. Too many guys out there, and let’s be real girls too, have a hard time admitting that they have feelings for someone. We live in a generation full of people playing mind games & only using relationships for their own personal benefit with no regard to their significant others feelings. Don’t be afraid to tell me you like me. Be upfront with me & honest. I don’t have the time or patience to deal with the games.

2. Have a Humorous Yet Serious Side

I’m the type of person who loves to laugh. I love to find the brighter side of life & I’m very goofy. Sometimes I use humor to cover up what I’m feeling & I’d rather be sarcastic & funny than try to be serious. That’s not to say that I can’t be serious because I can, occasionally. I want someone I can laugh with & have a good time with but I also need someone who can be serious, if anything, to help me be more serious sometimes. I want someone who at 3am won’t mind sitting with me as we talk about life.

3. Understand My Independence

No, I am not an independent black woman who don’t need no man. However, I am Miss Independent. I don’t like to depend on others or ask for help. Honestly, this could be my downfall. I’m so used to being independent that I don’t even know how to express my feelings properly for fear that I will end up depending on them. It’s honestly more of a pride thing. Because of my independence, I have a hard time admitting that I need someone in my life. I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you understand the way I am, I’ll warm up to you. I promise. Just don’t give up on me.

4. Who Said Chivalry Was Dead?

So I guess this will contradict number 3 but be a gentleman. You don’t have to dress in Vineyard Vines & wear a bow tie all the time. Be respectful to my parents, your parents, waitresses, everyone. Because the way you treat the people around you will also be the same way you treat me. You can open the door for me but don’t order food for me, that’s where my independence comes in. Honestly I’m attracted to someone who is compassionate. Who is caring towards myself & others.  Who isn’t in a relationship with me just for the physical side. Who wants to nurture the emotional side of our relationship as well.

5. It’s The Little Things In Life That Mean The Most

I’m a simple girl. Honestly. I don’t need your attention 24/7. I have girlfriends & my puppy for that. I don’t need you to buy me the fanciest clothes or jewelry or flowers. All I want is for you to notice the little things about me, like the way my eyelids flutter in my sleep or how my hair looks when I wake up. I want you to remember the tiny details about my life, like what my best friends name is or my favorite color or my biggest dream in life. Because remembering all the little things about me or telling me things about myself that even I haven’t noticed will show you care about me, you care about us, & you care about our relationship. Showing how much you care is the easiest way to win my heart.
